Careful With the Numbers

Everything Below Is Claims, Not Facts

Nobody has independently verified the area, the number of tables or the “largest casino in Europe” claim. We show who said it and when.

Gaps

What We Didn't Find

This isn't “not announced yet” — it's what's missing from both the resort's official materials and the press as of September 20, 2026.

  • Opening date.
  • The casino operator and whether anyone holds a license.
  • The architecture firm and the project's designer.
  • The exact address and plot size.
  • The construction cost.
  • Which restaurants, shops and hotels will be inside the complex.
  • The venue's official website: royalecasino.az doesn't load; there's only the @royalecasino.az tag on social media.

In short

Frequently asked questions

Is the casino open yet?

No. As of September 20, 2026 it's a construction site. All 2026 footage shows the frame, cranes and scaffolding; the official videos end with a “COMING SOON” card.

When will it open?

No opening date has been announced. Neither the resort's official materials nor the press give a timeframe.

Are casinos even legal in Azerbaijan?

Since July 8, 2025 — yes, but only on artificial land plots in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian, under a license from the authorized body and for ages 21 and up. Online casinos are banned.

Can I already book a table or buy a ticket?

No. The venue doesn't exist yet, there's no booking or sales, and you should be wary of pages that claim you can.

Where exactly is it being built?

On the resort's shore next to the reclaimed Halfmoon crescent. Official sources give no exact address; the map point is approximate.

Who's the operator and who's the architect?

Neither is named in any source we found.
